Final Fantasy XIV is one of the most popular MMO in the world. Since Endwalker was released in December 2021, the game gained momentum and boasts an impressive number of players. According to the FFXIV census, there are more than 26 million unique characters.
But with Altas, several characters and even accounts for the same players, it can be difficult to determine the exact number of active players. According to most assessments, at present there are about 2.2 million active players in the Final Fantasy XIV. To see how we did it, continue to read.
Active FFXIV players
Fortunately, we have several ways to determine the number of active players in Final Fantasy XIV. Firstly, we can look at active Steam users. Based on the Steamcharts website, only in Steam Final Fantasy XIV currently collects an average of 40,000 players every day, and on weekends players increases to 50,000. Nevertheless, Steam is only a small number of players.
Returning to the FFXIV census, the game lists 917 030 characters “Endspiel”. These characters completely completed the current main plot quest (MSQ). It is safe to assume that the one who has gone through the main story is an “active player”.
These numbers coincide with the data of another MMO census, MMO-Population. This site lists daily players from 1.1 to 2.2 million every day, depending on the day of the week. This means that about half of all active players completed MSQ, and the other half passed through content.
This means that we have about 1.1 million players who play every day, and another 1.1 million enter the system at least once a week. As a result, we would say that Final Fantasy XIV has about 2.2 million active players.
